“Changing Tide” Sayaka Ganz at the Botanical Conservatory

Have you been looking for something different to do? Go take a walk through Sayaka’s underwater, tropical paradise.  Sayaka worked with non-recycable plastics to create life size, colorful sea creatures that are very fun to meander through.  Take a close look and explore the different pieces and how she anchors them together.  Then step back and take in the entire installation for that colorful, under the sea feel, sure to cheer you up even on the most dreariest of winter days. The Conservatory is free for students with an id (so no monetary excuses) and I hope to get back at night so I can experience her pieces lighting up from within!  I didn’t even know they lit up until I saw the photos on the web site as my trip was during the day.  Also, make sure you leave your trace on the Love, Fort Wayne and Artlink chalk comment installation (https://www.facebook.com/LoveFt.Wayne).  There is also an interactive recycled materials collage area if you want some ideas for how to make your own Sayaka inspired sculptures.  I am sure this is aimed at children, but I wanted to play all the same. Don’t forget your camera either, I took these with my cell phone, but I was definitely itching for my actual camera.
